Customer Analyst role and how to improve your relationship with clients.

One of the most important things in business nowadays is the customer service. A good customer service provides support, knowledge and trust for your clients.

I’ve been working in this field for 12 years and notice lots of changes through the years. Back in the days, the customer service was very basic and the focus was just to give a type of assistance to the client in case of issues. Now the customer service is focused not only in giving support with issues but to have an open channel that clients can reach out the company for any type of subject.

I work for a market research company that provides strategic data analysis that help clients make right decisions for their business. The customer support there shows exactly the new era of the customer service as the focus is not only to achieve great sales and leads but to help business grow and support them in this path.

Follow some best practices that I have included in my daily routine as customer analyst in this years:

  • The first best practice is: Learn who is your customer. It’s fundamental to know with what type of clients you are working with, what type of business they have, what are their goals in medium and long term, their budget and their pain points.

  • In second: learn to listen. This will help you catch information that will be valuable to build trust with the client, and avoid the impression that you are there only to make them buy your product.

  • Third: every client is different and special. There is no magic formula to use for all your customers. Each individual and company have their specific needs and struggles, even if they are in similar industry fields. Learn how to make the difference for each client and they’re companies.

All this time working with customer support, gave me new abilities and made me feel hungry to learn different ways to make things better for client’s business. It’s a two-way street, you give your best and best will come to you.
